Profile
Prof Moe Wint Aung started the career as an Assistant Lecturer in the University of Medicine (1) since 2002 and became an Associate Professor in Medicine in 2013. She was trained as clinical fellow in Robert Hague Diabetes & Endocrinology Centre, Barnsley, South Yorkshire from 2006 to 2008. She also took clinical observership endocrine specialist training from South Tees hospitals, Middlesborough in 2015. She was promoted as Professor / Head, Department of Endocrinology in the University of Medicine (1) since September 2020.
Prof Aung initiated the development of Gestational Diabetes Mellitus clinic in Yangon General Hospital (YGH) and took part as team leader of healthcare provider training and transitional Type 1 diabetes project of Myanmar diabetes care program from 2017 to 2023. She contributed as a distinguished speaker in management of Diabetes symposiums in Myanmar Medical Congress held across different universities and participated energetically in World Osteoporosis Day talks in collaboration with Orthopedics society from 2017-2022.
The research she carried out in 2019 was Vitamin D deficiency of health care users in YGH and determinant risk factors for Vitamin D deficiency in different age groups of Yangon dwellers. In 2022, she was involved in committee of Myanmar Osteoporosis Guideline Development and recently attended the Asia Pacific Consortium on Osteoporosis (APCO) Summit in Singapore.
