Assoc Prof Philip Adamson

A/Prof Adamson is a Consultant Interventional Cardiologist at Christchurch Heart Institute, New Zealand. His clinical expertise is related to the treatment of coronary and structural heart diseases (coronary stenting, TAVI, PFO closure, etc). His research focus is the diagnostic and prognostic assessment of cardiovascular disease using circulating and imaging biomarkers, particularly advanced cardiac CT imaging.

He currently holds two project grants from the Health Research Council of NZ for multicentre trials investigating new approaches to the treatment of acute coronary syndromes. He is also an investigator for new devices being tested as minimally invasive treatments for structural heart disease and stroke prevention.
